Staying active and fit improves our overall health. Preventing us from the risk of many diseases and health challenges. Becoming more active in your life doesn’t mean you have to jump straight into training for marathons or pumping the bench press at the gym. You do not have to look like a fitness model to be active. It’s actually your choice of how you want to train and look. The most important thing is that you maintain an active lifestyle, especially when we are so busy on the go. Our bodies were created to move…. so, to live longer and to live a better quality of life, make exercise and fitness a priority.
But 1st,… Disclaimer… No, I am not a doctor or nurse. I am a business strategist,,,, an entrepreneur who knows that being healthy plays a huge role in being successful in both life and business. So, getting fit and maintaining a healthy lifestyle helps to keep us strong, gain mental clarity, and is a better chance to living a long healthy life. So, I only share tips and resources that has helped me on my journey of living a healthy lifestyle. Everybody is different…. If you have health issues, my advice is to consult your doctor 1st before attempting any types of exercises or nutritional supplements. Choose the right fitness programs that is a best fit for you. 🙂

It is a lifestyle that contributes positively to physical, mental and social well being, and includes regular exercise and physical activity. Also, healthy living refers to health enhancing behaviors or living in a healthy way. It implies the physical, mental and spiritual capacity to make healthy choices. Sedentary living is the enemy to active living. Move around more.
The Importance Of An Active LifeStyle
Maintaining an active lifestyle and regular physical activity keeps us in shape so you can enjoy leisure activities.
It helps you do these things….
- Relieve stress
- Increase your chances of living longer
- Feel happier and better about yourself
- Sleep better at night
- Grow stronger muscles and bones
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Keep doing activities you enjoy throughout your life
Focus On Activities You Enjoy
For those of you who just do not like exercising, find something that you enjoy. I guarantee you, once you make physical activity fun….you won’t be bored. Because trust me, if I’m not having fun, I don’t want to do it.
Enjoy outdoor activities such as….
- Play tennis
- Go for a swim
- Jog
- Go for a walk in nature
- Dance like no one’s watching (my favorite)
- Play golf
- Ride a bike
- Walk up and down stairs
- Yard work or gardening
If you hate jogging, you won’t be able to maintain a jogging program no matter how good it is for you. On the other hand, if you love to swim, dance, or play tennis you’ll find it easier to stick with an exercise program that’s built around those activities.
When getting started off to building an active lifestyle… you can make small changes such as going for a brisk walk 10 to 15 minutes several times per week. According to modern health guidelines all of us have to get at least 30 minutes of moderate activity throughout the day, this activity can be divided into short periods of 10 minutes. Maybe walking or stretching for 10 minutes won’t turn you into a fitness model but it will improve circulation in your body and clear out our head. So, walking could be a great starting point.
Develop A Fitness Routine
Schedule your fitness activity: This is one of my favorite to-dos. Having a fitness routine, doing the things I enjoy, helps me stay focused and dedicated. When I schedule the days of the week and times I will workout, helps me to stay committed. You don’t need a ton of time… just a few hours throughout the week.
Nutrition
Our busy lifestyles can be hard on our health. Work, school, taking care of the kids, running errands, etc. Develop good food habits by planning and prepping your meals in advance. Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. Take nutritional supplements and vitamins daily. I know that you have heard this so much,,,, but are we doing it daily. hmmmm. 🙂
There are plenty of fun ways to maintain an active lifestyle . The difference between looking on exercise as a boring chore is choosing an active lifestyle that’s right for you. By setting reasonable goals for yourself, taking those first critical steps, and finding something fun to do, you’ll be up and active in no time.
