Online Marketing Success -5 Basic Keys

Yesterday, I attended a workshop here in my area.  The room was packed with people who were looking for ways to promote their ideas and services online. There were also people who already had existing blogs/websites but were looking for ways to drive more traffic back to their blogs to generate more income.  In a nutshell, people wanted to know how to make money online.

Here are 5 basic keys to having online marketing success.

1.) Plan out your strategy:

First, you must have a plan.  Write out your plan. What are you trying to accomplish online?  How much money do you plan to make? Always start with a goal in mind, then find the tools and resources that fit your plan.

2.) Start a Blog:

Setup a blog to promote your products and services. People do business with people they know, like and trust.  Having a blog allows you to be more personal with your target audience.  You will be able to establish yourself as an expert in your field.  Setup a lead generation system on your blog to build your email list.

3.) Social media networks:

Use social media tools such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, and Youtube to establish your online presence. Use these tools to get your message out and to drive traffic back to your blog.  Leverage online platforms to generate leads and to connect with potential clients.

4.) Content:

The hot phrase of the year has been “Content is King”.  Provide helpful and valuable information to your audience.  Content will get you noticed and recognized once you share your information online.  Content can be delivered in ways such as blog post, tweets on Twitter, Videos, or post on Facebook.  Find ways to best fit your message with media.  Learn how to get your prospect’s attention and how to move people to take action.

5.) Community:

Build relationships online -Develop an online community.  Focus on the people that you want to reach.  Once again, people do business with people they know, like, and trust.  Build a community of people who are looking for what you have to offer.  Start attracting people who are already looking to work with you and already needing what you have to offer.  Appeal, attract, and engage your online community.
