3 Steps to Attracting Your Target Market

Your target market is a group of people that is already using or consuming the products/services you are trying to attract your target marketpromote or sell.  When you target your market, you find people that are already interested in what you have to offer. You should define your ideal client/prospect by answering this question: “Who need your services?” Be clear on why a client will want to do business with you in the 1st place. You want to have targeted focused marketing for your prospects so that you can save time, energy, and even save money. Don’t waste time talking to people that are not interested in what you have to offer.  Remember, your time is very valuable.  When you target your market, you will find that people are already looking for you.

Be visible online

Do you have an online presence?  People go to the internet to search for information to solve their problems. Have a strategy on how you are going to convey your message and information to your prospects.   Find creative and innovative ways to get your target market’s attention.  Offer value to attract leads through social media networks such as online video, blogging, podcasting, social media sites, online forums, webinars, just to name a few. I strongly suggest that you start off with one or two social sites so that you will not get overwhelmed.  Having an online presence is a great resource to being found by your target market.

Build Relationships

People do business with people they know, like, and trust.  People get to know you through your blogs and social sites. Position yourself as an expert in your industry. Experts are natural attention magnets. People are drawn to experts because of the value they provide to their clients.  The ultimate expert is always teaching & learning at the same time. Be authentic. Learn how to sell yourself because you are the face of your business.  Stay connected with your clients online.

Be a problem solver

Gain your client’s trust and offer solutions to their problems.  The internet is based on content. Focus on the specific needs of your clients then create content that caters to your target market’s problems. Offer products/services that will change people’s lives. Create connections that results in sales.  Learn how to put what you have to offer in front of an interested person then convert that person into a lead.
